Georgia's Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS)

Georgia's Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) includes an Accountability Profile for every public school and school system in the state. The Accountability Profile is composed of:

An absolute performance determination based on Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).
A Performance Index based on annual growth in academic achievement as measured by statewide assessments.
Performance Highlights which provide recognition for schools and school systems based on academic related indicators.

Single Statewide Accountability System Awards

Awards are provided to schools on either or both excellence in student achievement and progress on student achievement and may include recognition, flexibility/autonomy, and financial awards subject to appropriation by the Georgia General Assembly.

Criteria were developed comparing the most recent two years of Criterion Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) (grades 1-8 in reading, English/language arts, math, social studies, and science) and/or the Georgia High School Graduation Test (grade 11 first time test takers - English/language arts, math, science, and social studies). Criteria were based on Full Academic Year (FAY) students.

Greatest Gain Minimum Requirements

Platinum Schools must have made AYP for 3 consecutive years and have a minimum of 35% Exceeding Standards and a Meets + Exceeds Gain equal to or greater than:
- 2.05% for Elementary Schools
- 2.23% for Middle Schools
- 5.79% for High Schools
Gold Schools must have made AYP for 2 consecutive years and have a minimum of 30% Exceeding Standards and a Meets + Exceeds Gain equal to or greater than:
- 2.58% for Elementary Schools
- 3.59% for Middle Schools
- 7.65% for High Schools
Silver Schools must have made AYP for 2 consecutive years and have a minimum of 25% Exceeding Standards and a Meets + Exceeds Gain equal to or greater than:
- 5.66% for Elementary Schools
- 4.15% for Middle Schools
- 6.34% for High Schools
Bronze Schools must not be in Needs Improvement status and have a minimum of 20% Exceeding Standards and a Meets + Exceeds Gain equal to or greater than:
- 5.3% for Elementary Schools
- 5.46% for Middle Schools
- 8.89% for High Schools

Highest Percentage Minimum Requirements

Platinum Schools must have made AYP for 3 consecutive years and have a minimum of 35% Exceeding Standards and at least 98% of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards.
Gold Schools must have made AYP for 2 consecutive years and have a minimum of 30% Exceeding Standards and at least 97% of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards.
Silver Schools must have made AYP for 2 consecutive years and have a minimum of 25% Exceeding Standards and at least 96% of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards.
Bronze Schools must not be in Needs Improvement status and have a minimum of 20% Exceeding Standards and at least 95% of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards.
